Our Parents

Peace for Paul recognizes the importance of education. Although our primary focus is on the children, we realize that educating their parents can have tremendous benefits. One of our aims is to change the mentality and the stigma attached to the Karamajong people. We want to empower the Karamajong using programs that teach basic personal hygiene, parenting and trade skills, and provide information on available contraception. We will provide certain adult Karamojong graduates of our program with a small business loan. The repayment of these loans will be placed into a revolving account which will be used to empower more women. Although these may seem like simple concepts this knowledge has the potential to improve the lives of the Karamajong people, giving them a sense of their own value, that they can in turn pass on to their children.

The adult program has launched! We are starting with two women who are in desperate need of help. These women, Abra and Mary are the mothers of some of our children. Mary is the mother of Bosco, Natule, and Loputh; Abra is the mother of Mark, Agnes, Florence and Baby Bosco.  Both of these mothers have fled the Moroto region in search of a better life for themselves and their families–it looks like they have finally found it!
